We have continued to track Connecticut’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan and are writing today to stay in touch on this critical issue as promised. We aim to provide you the best information we have in this email and will be in touch with updates as this process continues.

At this time, educational staff are still asked NOT to upload their teacher and staff rosters until notified to do so. We will continue to monitor the process. In the meantime, we have heard that the state has experienced some technical issues with the online system that has allowed essential workers in Phase 1B to schedule vaccination appointments even though only individuals age 75 and older are able to do so. Governor Lamont is holding a press conference later today at 4:00 pm, where he is likely to address the issue.

Here are the latest updates of Connecticut’s COVID-19 Response. As Phase 1B of Connecticut’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan is underway, we wanted to share with you, when eligible, how you can make an appointment for your vaccine.

  • HEALTHCARE PROVIDER: Many residents have already been or will be contacted to schedule an appointment by their healthcare provider if their provider is participating in the state’s vaccine program. Not all providers are administering the vaccine. Here is a list of participating providers.
  • ONLINE: You can now access a form online at ct.gov/covidvaccine that allows individuals to schedule an appointment through the web-based Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS).
  • PHONE: Those without internet access can call Connecticut’s COVID Vaccine Appointment Assistance Line at 877-918-2224. The line will take calls on Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and offer a call-back option when all contact specialists are busy serving other callers.

We understand there have been significant challenges navigating this rollout within our community and across our state. Here is a list of local health departments should you need to identify a person to contact. We are also here to help you get answers as needed as challenges arise.

Governor Lamont is conducting a press conference today at 4 PM on COVID-19 in Connecticut. We expect vaccine distribution to be part of the conversation and will watch closely and follow up with updates as needed. Watch here on Facebook or Youtube. Also today at 4 pm, our sister organization, the New York Charter Schools Association, will host a webinar addressing HR questions and concerns related to the COVID-19 vaccine. I encourage you to send a member of your HR team to this webinar, which can be accessed here.
