As we prepare for a productive legislative session and a strong finish to the school year, the Connecticut Charter Schools Association (CTCSA) would like to share an important update on our leadership team. After heading up CTCSA since 2018, Executive Director Ruben Felipe will be transitioning out of his role with the Association.
Felipe has played an indispensable role in helping to bring educational options to the students and families of Connecticut. Through his unwavering commitment to expanding and supporting our public charter school sector, he has shaped the vision of CTCSA, helping advance our organization’s capabilities to support schools and make a difference on behalf of all students.
We are pleased to announce that our current Chief of Staff, Kara Neidhardt, will be stepping into the role of Interim Executive Director, effective February 5, 2024. Neidhardt has been an integral part of the CTCSA team since 2018, demonstrating exceptional leadership, a deep understanding of our mission, and the ability to fuel collaboration. Her wealth of experience and passionate approach make her the ideal candidate to guide us through this period of transition.
“The foundation we’ve built together at CTCSA has given a voice to public school students across the state,” Neidhardt said. “Now, it’s more important than ever that we find innovative ways to serve our students and advocate for our schools who deserve equitable access to more educational options.”
While change is inevitable, our commitment to the core values of CTCSA remains unwavering. Under Neidhardt’s capable leadership, we will continue to champion the rights of public charter school students and work tirelessly to deliver tangible results that positively impact our communities.
We will not waver in our focus on supporting schools, advocating for educational equity, and fostering an environment where public charter schools can thrive. Our entire team is dedicated to maintaining the high standards you have come to expect from our organization.
We appreciate your ongoing support and look forward to continuing this journey together. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for your continued commitment to advancing education for all.
