Legislative Hearing Scheduled Tuesday on Extending 11 Executive Orders, Governor’s Emergency Powers
On Tuesday, February 8th, the General Assembly will hold an informational hearing regarding the extension of the Governor's emergency powers and 11 Executive Orders (EOs) scheduled to expire on February 15th. The Office of Legislative Research has compiled a report summarizing the 11 EOs, which the General Assembly is expected to act on Thursday, Feb. 10th after the hearing.
The hearing will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. via Zoom on Tuesday and can be viewed on YouTube Live. Individuals who wish to testify via Zoom must register using the On-line Testimony Registration Form. The registration form must contain the name of the person who will be testifying and a unique email address must be provided for each person registered to speak. Registration will close on Monday, February 7 at 3:00 P.M.
Note: Speaker order of approved registrants will be listed in a randomized order and posted on the CGA Website Calendar under the event on Monday, February 7 at 6:00 P.M. Please email written testimony to PHTestimony@cga.ct.gov in Word or PDF format. The first two hours of the hearing are reserved for state officials. Speakers will be limited to three minutes of testimony. |
The 2022 legislative session convenes on Wednesday, Feb. 9th and will feature an in-person, mid-term budget address by Governor Ned Lamont — his first since before the pandemic in 2020.
