About Claudia
Claudia Phillips comes to the Connecticut Charter School Association with 12 years of education advocacy in communities such as her hometown of Bridgeport CT. Throughout her work she has focused primarily on educational options and equality, in particular public charter schools. Mrs. Phillips first became an Advocate as an Achievement First Mom, continuing the work in a position as an Operations Associate at Achievement First Bridgeport. This was followed by a position with Families for Excellent Schools as a community organizer. Currently she continues to serve the Charter school community in her role as a Community Engagement Manager in Bridgeport striving to form strong bonds and gain support for schools and families at the legislative level. Mrs. Phillips is a proud Latina parent to three children, who attended traditional, magnet and charter schools. Her son and daughters all studied at Achievement First schools and are currently attending Sacred Heart University, Boston College and Bucknell University respectively.
